Poster of Unseen Horizons: Stories of Blind West Virginians. A documentary by the American Foundation for the Blind, Production of AFB Studios. Illustration of a man and his guide dog walking in front of colorful mountains and a sunset.

The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is releasing its new documentary, Unseen Horizons, this summer, featuring untold stories of blind West Virginians. In an effort to explore the lives of individuals who are blind or low vision in the wild and wonderful state, AFB uncovers everyday challenges and experiences through the stories of six West Virginians. This film leaves audiences to consider the diverse walks of life and how everyone navigates the world differently.

Their stories tap into a common spirit we all carry for independence and inclusion, and you can be the first to hear these stories at our premiere event! AFB invites you to join us the evening of August 26th, 2025, from 5pm - 7pm at the Marshall University Student Memorial Center, for a special and exclusive screening of Unseen Horizons.

The screening will offer closed captions and open audio descriptions, ensuring accessibility for all audiences. A special reception with food and drink will kick off the event and a panel will follow the film screening. If you have any questions, please contact AFB Communications at communications@afb.org.
