Honoring Our Awardees and Unveiling Possibilities
On April 18th, 2024, at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, CA, we gathered to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of individuals who have made a profound impact for people who are blind or have low vision.
Our individual award recipients were filmmaker Shawn Levy and actor Marilee Talkington. Our organizational honoree was the film production company Lucasefilm—with Michael Kohn, Director of Distribution Operations for Lucasfilm, accepting the award. In addition to the awards ceremony, we presented a special screening of the AFB produced documentary, Possibilities. This film captures the stories and limitless potential of people who are blind or have low vision. You can view the trailer and learn more about Possibilities here!
