Helen Keller Society. Leave a Legacy of Empowerment.

Dear Friend,

For more than a century, the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) has worked to expand opportunity and independence for people who are blind or low vision. Helen Keller herself joined AFB in 1924 and remained a tireless advocate until her passing in 1968. Her enduring legacy guides us to this day.

As 2025 comes to a close, we are reflecting on “A Year of Impact, A Vision for Tomorrow.” This year, we marked significant milestones, from award-winning scholars to advocacy breakthroughs and pioneering AI research, building steady, measurable progress toward a future where equality and accessibility are the norm.

To that end, I am reaching out to invite you to join the Helen Keller Society, a community of compassionate individuals who, like Helen Keller, believe in a world of endless possibilities. By including AFB in your estate or financial plans, you can ensure your generosity continues for generations to come.

Members of the Helen Keller Society receive special recognition (if you wish), a welcome gift, invitation to an annual Lunch and Learn with AFB Leadership, and the satisfaction of knowing they are creating a lasting impact for people who are blind or low vision.

Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” As we close out this remarkable year, a planned gift to AFB is a heartfelt way to fuel our work ahead and transform tomorrow’s world.

If you have already included AFB in your plans, please let us know so we can thank and welcome you officially to the Helen Keller Society. And if you are considering, we are happy to help answer any questions and guide you through the simple steps to get started.

Together, we can build a future of access, inclusion, and opportunity for all.

With gratitude,

A smiling white man with blonde hair, wearing a black jacket and light blue shirt. Eric Bridges Chief Executive Officer American Foundation for the Blind

P.S. Close out the year by fueling our work ahead – because the future of accessibility depends on all of us. To learn more about planned giving and the Helen Keller Society, please contact our Resource Development team at (212) 502-7600, RD@afb.org, or visit afb.mygiftlegacy.org.
