CRAIG: Good afternoon! I'm Craig Meador, President of the American Printing House for the Blind.

KIRK: And I'm Kirk Adams, President and CEO of the American Foundation for the Blind. Craig has joined me here today at AFB's new Washington D.C. headquarters so that we can share a truly exciting and important announcement. As you know, AFB and APH have always been strong partners.

CRAIG: And as the needs of people who are blind and visually impaired change, as organizations we must change to meet those needs. And that's why we have to partner.

KIRK: Today, we are making some changes, and passing the stewardship baton of key programs founded by AFB to the American Printing House for the Blind. These programs include AFB Press, FamilyConnect, VisionAware, CareerConnect, BrailleBug, and our Information & Referral line. We are incredibly proud of these programs and what they have achieved over the last several decades. We know that many of you watching have contributed to that success. It is your hard work that has brought us to this crossroads, this opportunity for greater impact.

CRAIG: We at APH are honored to become the caretakers of this critical body of work, and we look forward to innovating, and keeping these programs relevant in the 21st century.

KIRK: In order to create a more inclusive and accessible society for millions of Americans with vision loss, AFB will be ramping up our efforts to advocate with policymakers, conduct research that catalyzes change, and influence the decision-makers who are shaping the future.

CRAIG: Ultimately, both of our organizations have the same goal, but we can only get there if we share the work that needs to be done. Together, we'll achieve our missions to create a world where people can work, and learn, and live without barriers.

KIRK: And we'll need your help, too. Stay tuned, because we will be keeping you posted as this transition progresses. Our partnerships—with each other and with you—will be key in creating the future we all know is possible.
